"Great alternative to a traditional HELOC"
Super easy to use. Fast approval and great customer service. Although I wish they had a phone number I could call instead of email. Otherwise a solid company with no-BS HELOC approval and no hoops to jump through like all the banks wanted.

"Account start-up issues"
Lots of growing pains with this company. Received a "pre-approval" invite to apply via snail mail. Applied, was approved, signed contracts with a notary who verified my identity, was told my card would be delivered in roughly 10 business days, then received a nondescript email 2 days later stating they are unable to verify my identity and my application was denied. Very confusing because I am who I say I am. After getting very angry and leaving a negative review here, (and a few hours later) I received a call from customer service saying that they manually went into my file to check what caused the error and reopened the account. I understand that most of this process is automated, but this ID confirmation thing is a recurring issue with many customers. Whatever part of your automation sends out that denial email needs to be changed. At that point a live customer service rep needs to be brought in to review the file and remedy any ID issues directly with the customer, NOT a sterile "canned response" denial email. Those types of communications should only go out after all attempts to resolve ID issues continue to show discrepancies. I **think** my account is now back on track, but I still feel somewhat sketchy about it. I will update this review once I actually receive a card, and I'm able to make purchases.

"Unable to verify my identity?"
I was pre-approved, then got denied with a reason "Unable to verify identity" which I am very confused about as all the submitted documentation is accurate. I have tried to reach their support via email, text, or schedule a call with their service but it is nonexistent! No one is giving me answers. I want to understand what my next steps should be.

"Generally the experience very good but…"
Generally the experience very good but it’s a little confusing how the fees and such are charged on a cash out. And I had difficulty getting their website to accept a balance transfer.

"This was one of the easiest HELOC loans…"
This was one of the easiest HELOC loans I have ever had. I've had a couple through my local banks over the years and I had to go through the whole normal loan process and then set up a closing at a title company. Aven's loan process was quick, easy and I was approved in 15 minutes and was set up with a virtual Notary to close the loan that same evening. I would refer Aven to anyone of my family and friends looking to do a HELOC loan.
